First South West Baby Cessna Roundup!'s Event
First South West Baby Cessna Roundup!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! May 2,3 & 4, 2014.... FLABOB Airport... KRIR SoCal
BABY CESSNA SOUTHWEST ROUNDUP!!!
We’re planning what will hopefully be an annual happening! May weather here is usually good, 70’s-80’s... and we have the prefect spot, with room for 100+ airplanes, and accommodating facilities, and everyone’s welcome. If you missed CLINTON .... FLABOB is the place to be!
Friday - Early arrivals. We will have a FREE lasagna dinner for those who arrive on Friday. Camping is plentiful and encouraged, but there are several local hotels in downtown Riverside, (If camping’s not your bag!!!) 1 1/2 miles away. We will arrange transportation and are negotiating for discounts and group rates as well.
Saturday - Morning will have a simple Continental breakfast of coffee, juice and sweet rolls/muffins, or you can go to our newly remodeled cafe. Depending on numbers, a pancake breakfast might be arranged. Hamburgers for lunch, and a Mexican Fiesta Dinner to wind it up when we award trophies.
Sunday morning will have another simple meal while everyone packs up to head home.
Trophies??? YES! We’re planning on flour drop and spot landing contests... winners get bragging rights and a trophy fit for any hangar! Other trophies for categories ‘to be determined,’ along with prizes from sponsors being contacted currently. Event T-Shirts will be available as well. We will have a website up soon for early registration (and benefits for doing so!) and will include a Pay-Pal link to make it easy. We are keeping prices low, so everyone can attend, even if you’re traveling a long distance.
Flabob is an awesome airport for an event like this, 7th oldest in CA. Lots of room with paved and grass runways. We have showers, shaded picnic area with cook shack... all the amenities! Many of Who’s Who in aviation, have deep roots here... such as Art Scholl, Bill Turner, Ray Stitts, and more. Visit Flabob’s website at www.Flabob.org to have a quick look and see pictures of the airport.
Please contact Jim if you want in on the planning and/or helping make this new event a successful first time out. We can use all the help we can get!... especially if it meets the potential it has! We would also like your input as well... so please write or call!
Fly safely! Fly often!
